I’ve worked with Thievery Corporation for over ten years and one of the greatest honors in both my professional career and my personal life is that I am a member of the Thievery Family. These pictures were shot at the Greek Theater in LA, the Santa Barbara Bowl and at the San Diego County Fair.
Every person who I’ve met with and through this band are good people. Ego’s get checked at the door.Rob Garza and Eric Hilton are the solid foundation (and founders) of the band. They are ably supported by the core nucleus of Jeff Franca (aka Congo Sanchez) on drums, Hash on bass, Robbie Myers on guitar / sitar and Frank Orral on percussion / vocals. Each song has a different lead vocalist, with Zee and Rootz Steele, Sleepy Wonder, Puma, and Mr. Lif on the male vocals (along with Frank Orral who now sings lead on two songs) and LouLou Ooldouz Ghelichkhani and Natalia Clavier on female vocals with Shana Halligan performing in LA on the awesome Depth of My Soul. This is a big band.
Thievery have a killer new album coming out in the New Year which will definitely be worth checking out. And go see them live, they are truly phenomenal.
As this is my favorite band to work with, I’ve written about them before in this blog and you can see those other posts here:
