Glastonbury today is beautiful. It rained a bit this morning, but right now the sun is shining, it is warm and it looks like it’s going to stay nice for the remainder of the festival. This very cool piece was built by Joe Rush and sits above the entrance to Sharky’s Church Of The Holy Roller.

The gates opened to the general public last night and Unfairground was the only field in the South East Corner aka Late Night Area to be ready and open. The Bloodsuckers Bar run by Charlie was definitely the place to be. Charlie decided to get all the right paperwork this year, which took several months and a lot of effort. He wasn’t sure whether it was worth doing or not. When the two guys from Mendip (Local) Council showed up with their clipboards, he realised he’d done the right thing when they ticked all the boxes on their bits of paper and told him he was legal to sell alcohol. A total result and respect to Charlie for making the effort that paid off.

And for the lucky few, the Banana Boat Bar out the back was an intimate area for people to chill out and hang after the last couple of weeks working hard to get ready.
