Alex ‘Wreckage’ Wright has been an integral part of the Mutoid Waste Co since he was a teenager in the late 1980’s.He has worked under the name Wreckage International for many years and is one of the few people I’ve met in the course of my life that I regard as a genuine genius in a multitude of disciplines. As well being an amazing sculptor, he is a phenomenal painter and also had a recording contract at one point in the 1990’s. The Lost Tea Party started as an idea in his head sometime last year when he saw the theme for Burning Man 2014 was Caravansary and it occurred to him that teapots have the same silhouette as camels. So he played with the idea and developed the concept under grey English skies before relocating to mighty Scotty’s place in Petaluma CA, where he started to gather like minded people and build the giant teapots which became The Lost Tea Party. This first series of pictures is from the madness of the last week before Burning Man and the next post will be The Lost Tea Party at Burning Man 2014.
