The Sunday Supper Club is a regular salon type gathering over a meal initiated by my friends Estrella and Gabrielle. Estrella is the extremely cool Director of Tropical Diseases for MSF (Medicines Sans Frontieres aka Doctors Without Borders) who comes from Barcelona and Gabrielle is a superb artist who originates from New Zealand.
The inaugural meal happened last week at Estrella’s apartment and the guests included Gareth, who is one of the owners of the very cool Ear Inn; Nicholas who runs the excellent and very successful Manhattan Short Film Festival and Ana and David, who is a Nuclear Physicist.
I had a great conversation with David about what’s happening at Fukushima. And I can tell you, we need to be worried people. He told me that this is unprecedented in the history of nuclear physics as two years after the initial explosion, three of the reactors are still melting down. And at this point the industry doesn’t know how to stop the meltdown.
It was a superb night and I look forward to lots more of the Sunday Supper Club dinners as we are going to rotate through all our different apartments / houses etc. and the host plus one other person will arrange the food. I’ll probably post more pictures as more of them happen.
