I’ve known Theresa Byrnes for almost twenty years and I regard her as probably the single most inspiring human being I‘ve ever met. She makes very cool paintings and once or twice a year creates performance pieces that are always interesting. She also happens to live her life in a wheelchair.
She roped me into taking part in her last performance piece, which was called CLOTHED and was principally about the relationship between photographer and subject. The performance took place at Bullet Space in the East Village in late April and was part of the group show ‘It’s about you and me’ which was curated by Monika Hardmeier.
This series of images were taken during the show and the picture of the two of us was taken by Martine Fougeron.
