As mentioned in the previous blog, the finishing line for the Idiotarod was at Gowanus Ballroom where the best of the intrepid racers received Awards and all were entertained by a variety of bands and performers throughout the night. A definite highlight was when all the carts were destroyed by the amazing Cart-A-Pult, built by Josh Young in 12 hours the night before the race.
There is always something good happening at Gowanus Ballroom. This Saturday (February 9th 2013) night there is a party to promote the launch of Nowhere Magazine and as a fund raiser for the Gowanus Ballroom, which is still struggling to get back on its feet after the disastrous flooding caused by Hurricane Sandy (read about it here). If you are in NYC this weekend, don’t worry about the blizzard as it will have stopped snowing by Saturday lunchtime and go raise hell at Gowanus. I’ll be there, so come find me and introduce yourself.
