This coming weekend Governors Island (which is my favorite place in NYC) will close for the winter. If you live in NYC, you should make a point of catching the ferry and visiting this unique spot that lies halfway between Manhattan and Brooklyn in New York Harbour that is packed with fantastic art such as this sculpture by Mark di Suvero from Stormking.

It also has a great mini golf course as part of the Figment Sculpture Terrace and the excellent 4 Heads Art Fair. For a full calendar of what’s happening check the Governors Island website. Or just go over with your friends to have a picnic.
